Come out and enjoy learning Kizomba with Haley and Tonino! 4 Hours of Kizomba Workshops 4 Hours of Social Dancing Workshops from 2pm to 4pm, 1 hour break, then from 5 to 7pm Social dancing from 10pm to 2am. Antonio Medina is from the Cape Verde Islands.
Event Details
He grew up dancing Morna, Coladeira, Funana, Batuku, Passada and other traditional African dances such as Mbalakh, Soukous, Caribbean Zouk etc. He was first introduced to the world of structured dance through Salsa in 2006. Antonio has been dancing for 10 years and teaching for 8 years. He is a certified Salsa Instructor under the Black Belt Salsa System created by the multi-World Champion Edie “the salsa freak” and a trained Kizomba instructor with Paula and Ricardo Souza from the Afro-Latin Connection Company in Portugal. He is the organizer of the annual Tucson Salsa Bachata Dance Festival, Arizona Dance Addiction, and co-organizer of the Orlando International Kizomba Festival. He is a dynamic dancer, patient instructor and his biggest reward is to watch new students grow and become phenomenal dancers. He is also a retired U.S.Army veteran with 20 years of service and multiple combat tours to Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Haley Morrison has been training in various dance techniques such as, Clogging, Jazz, and Modern since the age of four. Her passion for dance drove her to study Dance Performance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where her focus was Modern and Ballet. Through her studies at UNCC she discovered various Latin and African dance forms. From traveling to study Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and various other dance styles she met Manuel Dos Santos and his company Kizomba Canada. After taking workshops at many different festivals with Manuel and his team and witnessing the awesome energy that they brought to every event they are apart of, she decided that this was the organization she wanted to be affiliated with. Now, Haley is proudly teaching and performing Kizomba as Dsantos Dance NC with Manuel Dos Santos and Kizomba Canada!
