This experience will focus on African American power movers who have made great imprints, behind the scenes and in the film and entertainment industries. This talk will provide the community with an informed perspective on the topics regarding adversity, self-identity and the longevity in the entertainment industry as an African American. The event aims to reflect the diversity in the arts and cultural community through the power of storytelling and the sharing of knowledge and wisdom.
On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Actress Meagan Good and Producer DeVon Franklin will guide the audience through a chronicle timeline progression of their careers; highlighting career achievements and obstacles. The storytelling will be supported with video outtakes and personal insight from Meagan and DeVon. The remaining programming will transition into an engaging Q&A with the audience, Meagan, DeVon and moderator Pastor Brian R. Thompson, Sr., Simon Temple AME Zion Church.
