Event Details
The Fayetteville State University Jazz Weekend Festival will host jazz trumpet and recording Artist "Monk Competition Winner," Marquis Hill & his group "Blacktet". Hill is known for contemporary and classic jazz, hip-hop, R&B, Chicago house, neo-soul—to Hill, they’re all essential elements of the profound African-American creative heritage he’s a part of.
Along with New York drummer and recording artist, Bryan Carter and the "Young Swangers. Bryan is currently touring the world with his band, “Bryan Carter & The Young Swangers”. He also served as the house drummer for NBC’S “Maya & Marty” starring Maya Rudolph, Keenan Thompson and Martin Short. The show has featured guests including Miley Cyrus, Tom Hanks, Drake, Steve Martin and Tina Fey.
