Who wants to be the Dogwood Donut Eating Champion?

Event Details

The 38th Annual Dogwood Festival is bringing something sweet to the table! Donut fans rejoice and join us for our inaugural donut eating contest. Adults and Teens will compete for the title of Dogwood Donut Champion, a trophy and a chance to lift the Dogwood Donut Belt. The winner of the kid’s competition will receive a trophy.

Adults and teens will go through two rounds in order to gain the title and belt. Round one will consist of eating 12 donuts. The first 5 teens to do so will move to the second round and the first 7 adults to do so will advance to the second round.

Round two will consist of eating the most donuts in a given time period. The contestant in the two age groups who finishes the most donuts will be crowned the Dogwood Donut Champion and lift the Dogwood Donut Belt!

Kids will compete in eating 20 donut holes. Whoever finishes first will gain the title of Dogwood Kid Donut Eating Champion. This winner will receive a trophy.

The contest will take place Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m.on our new Performance Stage in front of City Hall on Hay Street. Participants will need to arrive at the performance stage 3 minutes before the competition to check-in. If you do not check-in before the competition, you will not be able to compete.

How it works!
Contestants will register to participate in the following age groups. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Kids
$5 Registration Fee: Kids (ages 8-12)

Adults and Teens
$10 Registration Fee: Teens (ages 13-17)
$15 Registration Fee: Adults (ages 18 & Up)

Rules
The person who eats their donuts in the shortest amount of time will be declared the winner.

Any contestant who is sick or showing signs of illness will be disqualified. If a participant gets sick, it is their responsibility to clean up their mess.

Any person caught cheating will be disqualified.

To be declared the winner, the contestant must swallow all of their donuts and show an empty mouth to the judges.

The winners of the contest will receive the title of the Dogwood Donut Champion, a trophy and lift the belt. They will hold the title until next year’s festival where they can defend it, or pass it on to next ye
