Join Community Enrichment Initiatives Inc. (CEII) and U.S. Green Building Council - Carolinas for the first annual Fall Feast at the Martin Luther King Community Center.
Event Details
CEII and USGBC are collaborating with the City of Wilmington on an ADVANCE project at the MLK Center to enrich programs and enhance the facilities for the local community. In August 2017 the Wilmington City Council approved the proposal for Center improvements, which includes the creation of a certified commercial kitchen. The kitchen is a major focus of the proposal, as the MLK Center is located within a food desert and the community would benefit from access to fresh, healthier food and meals.
CEII hopes to increase awareness of the needs of the MLK Center and local community and gather the funds needed to build the kitchen by hosting a series of fundraising and enrichment events. The Fall Feast is the first of these events and will include a three course meal prepared by guest chefs with fresh, local ingredients and an exciting keynote speaker.
