Health Equity: Northside Community's “Dancin’ in the Park" “Dancin’ In the Park” is a locally organized health initiative with the primary goal of promoting physical activity and healthy living among all communities.
Event Details
The local YMCA is partnering with New Hanover Regional Medical Center to host this program, which will occur once a week over a four week period.
Goals of this program are:
To promote physical activity and healthy living within the Northside Community.
To connect with Northside Community members.
To provide health screenings such as blood pressure checks and glucose.
Location: Portia Hines Park

Dates: Every Saturday, April 6- May 25April 6, April 13, April 20, April 27, May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25
Want to join in the fun?
There will be a DJ and fitness instructors leading dancing from 9:30-11am, followed by free giveaways and snacks. All ages and fitness abilities are welcome.
Can’t dance but want to be involved? We are seeking volunteers each Saturday for the following :
Set-up (3 people) from 8:45-9:30am duties include setting up tents, tables, water stations and putting out trash cans, etc
Sign-in (2 people) from 9:00-10:30am
Event Break down- Handout snacks, cleanup, break down tents. Gloves will be provided (3 people) from 11:00-11:30am
